Texas A&M upsets Missouri in quarterfinals
GREENVILLE, S.C. - No. 6 seed Texas A&M knocked off No. 3 seed Missouri 62-48 to advance to the semifinals of the SEC Tournament.
Anriel Howard had a big night with 19 points, 9 rebounds and 4 steals. Taylor Cooper added 16 points and Curtyce Knox recorded 10 assists.
Sierra Michaelis led the Tigers with 15 points, while sophomore star Sophie Cunningham was held to 13 points. Missouri didn't have a free throw attempt until the final minutes of the game.
Texas A&M came back fighting in the second half and outscored the Tigers 15-4 in the third quarter.
The Tigers were off to a quick start draining 5-of-7 from 3-point range in the first quarter. Texas A&M got its offense rolling in the second quarter, closing the gap to 27-24 before halftime.
UP NEXT: The Aggies will face No. 2 seed Mississippi State in Game 12 on Saturday. Tipoff time is approximately 30 minutes after the conclusion of Game 11 between No. 1 seed South Carolina and No. 4 seed Kentucky.
