Player of the Week
Tavian Josenberger, Arkansas
Josenberger, helped power the Razorbacks to a 3-1 week, including an SEC weekend series win against Alabama. Josenberger slashed a team-leading .571/.657/1.143 with eight hits, including four extra-base hits (two doubles and two home runs), and six RBI - all of which were team highs. He finished with multiple hits in three of the Hogs' four games, including a season-best three hits in the second game of the series against Alabama. He also scored eight runs on the week, most among all SEC batters. Defensively, Josenberger made a sensational home run-robbing catch and turned a double play from center in Saturday's win.
Pitcher of the Week
Devin Futrell, Vanderbilt
Futrell, tossed eight shutout innings Sunday vs. Georgia to lead Commodores to a series sweep. He struck out seven batters and didn't allow a walk in the win, holding the Bulldogs to just three hits. Futrell helped Vanderbilt extend its winning streak to an SEC-best 11 games.
Co-Freshmen of the Week
Ethan Petry, South Carolina
Petry, helped lead his team to a series win at Mississippi State, hitting .429 with six runs scored, five RBI, a double, a home run and a .714 slugging percentage. Petry's home run in the fifth inning on Thursday helped the Gamecocks to a 6-4 win against the Bulldogs. On Saturday, Petry was 3-for-6 with a big three-run double in the eighth inning to put Carolina up 7-4. He then drove in a run with a single in the ninth, part of a seven-run inning for the Gamecocks.
Chris Maldonado, Vanderbilt
Maldonado, reached base safely eight times and helped lead his team to a three-game sweep of Georgia. Maldonado registered a pair of three-hit games during the weekend series, and half of his six hits went for extra bases. Recorded go-ahead RBIs twice in Saturday's win. Maldonado helped the Commodores stretch their winning streak to 11 games.
