Two Relays on Day One of Men's Swimming Championship

The first night of the 2021 SEC Men's Swimming Championship concluded with two relays at the Mizzou Aquatics Center.

The evening session started with the 200 medley relay as Adam Chaney, Dillon Hills, Eric Friese and Will Davis of Florida set a pool record with their time of 1:23.17. Matthew Menke, Derek Maas, Colton Stogner and Matt King of Alabama placed second with a time of 1:23.28. Shaine Casas, Tanner Olson, Jace Brown and Mark Theall of Texas A&M finished third with a time of 1:23.28.

The Aggies set the pool record in the 800 free relay as Casas, Theall, Kaloyan Bratanov and Clayton Bobo posted a combined time of 6:11.63 to win the event for the first time in program history. Kieran Smith, Trey Freeman, Clark Beach and Miguel Cancel of Florida came in second at 6:12.24, followed by Luca Urlando, Zach Hils, Bradley Dunham and Jake Magahey of Georgia with a time of 6:14.00.

The championship continues on Wednesday, February 24, starting with the prelims of the 500 free, 200 IM and 50 free at 10 a.m. CT. The finals for the 500 free, 200 IM, 50 free and 200 free relay is slated to begin at 6 p.m. CT. Both sessions can be seen on SEC Network+.
