SEC runners wrap up cross country season
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (Nov. 19, 2022)-----The Southeastern Conference cross country programs wrapped up the 2022 season Saturday morning at the NCAA Championships held at the Greiner Family OSU Cross Country Course in Stillwater, Okla.
The Alabama women's team recorded the highest finish of any SEC squad with a third place standing. Arkansas was 21st. In the men's race, Tennessee placed 20th, Arkansas was 23rd, Ole Miss 24th, and Alabama was 27th. Northern Arizona was the men's champion, while NC State won the women's race.
Florida's Parker Valby finished runner-up in the women's 6K with a time of 19:30.9. Alabama teammates Hilda Olemomoi and Amaris Tyynismaa finished sixth and ninth, respectively.
Tennessee's Dylan Jacobs was the highest SEC male performer in the 10k with a fourth place finish in 28:58.0
