SEC Cross Country Championships set for Friday

OXFORD, Miss. (Oct. 27, 2022)----- The Southeastern Conference and the University of Mississippi will serve as host of the 2022 SEC Cross Country Championships Friday at the Ole Miss Golf Course Course in Oxford, Miss. The meet will be televised live on the SEC Network.

The women's 6K race is scheduled for a 10:08 a.m. CT start, while the men's 8K race will begin at 10:50 a.m. CT. An awards ceremony will follow the men's race. Admission to the 2022 SEC Cross Championships is free and open to the public. This marks the first time since 2009 Ole Miss has served as host of the SEC Cross Country Championships.

Four SEC teams enter the SEC Championships listed among the nation's top-25 teams according to the most recent rankings released last week. In the women's rankings, Alabama is ranked seventh, while Arkansas is No. 21. Tennessee is the highest-ranked SEC men's squad at No. 17, while Alabama is No. 22.

Arkansas won its second consecutive SEC men's title last year, while the Arkansas women have won each of the last nine SEC crowns. Arkansas has 27 all-time SEC men's cross country championships and 22 women's titles to lead all teams.
