No. 19 Vanderbilt leads SEC Women's Golf Championships

HOOVER, Alabama - No. 19 Vanderbilt shot an even-par 288 to take the lead after the first day of play of the SEC Women's Golf Championships Wednesday at Greystone Golf & Country Club's Legacy Course.

The Commodores lead by two shots over No. 21 Florida (290). No. 3 LSU and No. 5 Mississippi State are tied for third at 4-over par (292).

Vanderbilt's Celina Sattelkau fired the low-round of the day at 4-under 68. Julia Lopez Ramirez of Mississippi State, Latanna Stone of LSU and Ivy Shepherd of Kentucky are all tied for second just one shot behind Sattelkau.

This marks the 10th year for the Southeastern Conference Championship to be held at the Greystone Golf and Country Club just outside of Birmingham, Ala. The 2023 event will mark the fourth straight in which the championship will be held over five days with match play on Saturday and Sunday. The opening three rounds will consist of stroke play. The championship match on Sunday will be televised live on SEC Network. The semifinals on Saturday will be available live on SECN+.

The second round of the SEC Championship will begin Thursday at 8 a.m. CT. Live scoring is available at SECSports.com and golfstat.com.
