MEN

GOLFERS OF THE WEEK

 Hugo Townsend, Ole Miss 

  • Ole Miss men's golfer Hugo Townsend earned a season-best finish of 4th place with an overall score of 213 (-3) at the Seminole Intercollegiate. Townsend led the field in par-3 scoring (-3) and was third in the field in birdies (13). This is the grad transfer's first top-5 finish for Ole Miss.
  • Townsend was one of five players in the 81-player field to achieve an overall score underneath par against the high, windy conditions in Tallahassee. Townsend led for Ole Miss in all three rounds on the Seminole Legacy Golf Course to contribute to Ole Miss' 3rd place finish.
  • During the first round of competition, the Boden, Sweden native went low with a 68 (-4) round score. Townsend went bogey-free for 17 holes while knocking in seven birdies to begin the competition on a high note and kept his stride to achieve his 4th place finish.

 Nathan Franks, South Carolina

  • Recorded his second-straight top-five finish at the General Hackler Championship (March 13-14).
  • Shot 207 (-9) to finish T-4th ; posted scores of 68-69-70 on the par-72 layout.
  • Led the team with 12 birdies over 54 holes.
  • Finished T-2nd in the 84-man field in pars (39) and also T-3rd in the field in par-3 scoring average (-1, 2.92).
  • Has recorded six-straight red numbers in tournament play for the Gamecocks.

FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK

 Reed Lotter, Auburn

  • Shot 68-72-72 to finish 14th at 212 (-4) overall.
  • Carded fourth consecutive top-15 finish, only four tournaments into his career.
  • Has now recorded nine consecutive rounds at par or better, including five in the 60s.
  • Opening round 68 pushed him up to T4th in school history for freshman rounds in the 60s.

WOMEN

GOLFERS OF THE WEEK

 Angela Arora, Tennessee

  • Captured the individual title at the Clover Cup, shooting -11 overall.
  • Recorded three rounds in the 60s (69-68-68) to notch the third-lowest 54-hole score in program history (205).
  • Paced the field and held the top spot through all three rounds.
  • First individual win for the Lady Vols since 2020-21, and the first under head coach Diana Cantu.

 Chiara Tamburlini, Ole Miss

  • Finished in a tie for third at the Valspar Augusta Invitational, marking her second Top 5 finish on the season.
  • Ties her season-best finish with a 5-under 139, having also tied for third at the Blessings Collegiate Invitational.
  • Also marks the seventh Top 5 finish of her career, ranking sixth all-time in program history.
  • Ranked third amongst all golfers in attendance in total birdies on the week, sinking nine over her two rounds of action.
  • With rounds of 69 (-3) and 70 (-2) on the weekend, has now logged eight rounds of par of better golf and four rounds in the 60s on the 2022-23 season.
  • Golfed 33 out of 36 holes par or better on the weekend.
