HOOVER, Ala. -- LSU is heading to its third SEC Championship game in five years after slamming the door on South Carolina's tournament hopes with a deciding 11-0 win over the Gamecocks.

LSU is averaging 8.3 runs per game during its current 10-game winning streak, the second-longest active streak in Division I. Oregon State has won 13 in a row.

All of the Tigers' offense came in the first three innings, where they hit 12-for-20 (.600) and three home runs.

"We came out and took advantage of a pretty depleted pitching staff," said LSU head coach Paul Mainieri. "I felt kind of sorry, to be honest with you, for South Carolina. They were running on fumes after five games in five days and I'm sure they didn't have a lot of arms they could go to. That's just this business. You gotta get the job done and we were able to take advantage of it."

LHP Jared Poche' (10-3) led the Tigers defense through the first six innings, holding the Gamecocks to 2-for-24 from the plate. Poche' retired nine of the first 12 batters he faced.

This is the ninth all-time shutout in SEC Tournament history for LSU, the most of any SEC school.

Kramer Robertson ignited the Tigers' offense, coming just a double shy of hitting a cycle. Robertson hit 3-for-5 with 2 RBI and a solo home run and has hit 6-for-13 with 7 RBI in this year's tournament.

"He's a big game player," Mainieri said. "You love him or hate him. I know he creates a lot of emotions out there around the country, but he's really a wonderful young man. He's very passionate about the game and he's passionate about his team. The bigger the stage, the brighter the spotlight and I just think Kramer raises it up. Here we are in the postseason. This is his time to shine."

The LSU shortstop jump-started the Tigers' offense in the first, launching a left-field home run on just the third pitch of the game. Tigers' Cole Freeman then reached base on four straight balls followed by a fly out by Antoine Duplantis. Junior Greg Deichmann's 2 RBI homer extended the Tigers' lead to 3-0.

The Tigers added two more runs in the second off of three hits. Robertson scored on a Freeman single to right field and then Freeman added the second run off a John Parke wild pitch.

The LSU offensive onslaught continued in the third, when the Tigers scored six runs off six hits which included a 2 RBI triple by freshman Zach Watson, an RBI triple by Robertson and a solo home run by right-fielder Greg Deichmann.

LSU will be competing for its 12th SEC Tournament Championship in its 18th title game appearance.

LSU is now 6-8 against South Carolina in the SEC Tournament. The last LSU tournament loss to the Gamecocks was back in 2002.
