Kinnane, Winn named XC Scholar-Athletes of the Year
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (Oct. 25, 2023) -----Auburn's Ryan Kinnane and Ole Miss' Loral Winn have been named the SEC Cross Country Scholar-Athletes of the Year by a vote of the league's head coaches.
Kinnane, a senior from Wichita, Kan., earned his undergraduate degree in aviation management (business minor) with a 3.95 grade point average. He is currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration. Kinnane was Auburn's top finisher in all three meets he raced this season, and he became the first Auburn runner to earn national athlete of the week honors earlier this year. He was also voted the SEC Men's Cross Country Co-Scholar-Athlete of the Year in 2022.
Winn, a senior from Dresden, Tenn., holds a 3.98 grade point average in journalism with a minor in Spanish. She has been a member of the SEC Academic Honor Roll and has served on the SEC Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). Winn has been among Ole Miss' top two finishers this season and has established 5K and 6K personal bests.
Kinnane and Winn will be recognized at the SEC Cross Country Championships Friday in Columbia, S.C.
