HOOVER, Ala. -- No. 4 seed Florida rode the left arm of A.J. Puk past No. 5 seed Arkansas, beating them 10-0 in the elimination round of the 2015 SEC Baseball Tournament.

Puk (8-4) earned the win off an 11-strikeout effort, only allowing three hits in 7 innings of play. Puk struck out 9 of 10 batters from the third inning to the sixth.

"I think for us the whole thing is about being consistent," said Florida head coach Kevin O'Sullivan. "That's two nights in a row where we've swung the bats really well and it's two really good starts by Logan [Shore] and by A.J., and that's kind of what we need moving forward. We've swung the bat fairly good the whole year, but to put these performances back-to-back, that's a step in the right direction."

The Gators got on the board first when Dalton Guthrie scored from third off a Josh Tobias groundout. Guthrie had singled and advanced to third after Buddy Reed was walked and Richie Martin grounded out.

Arkansas couldn't find an answer for Florida's offense in the fifth inning. Razorback head coach Dave Van Horn subbed Lance Phillips for Taccolini after the starting pitcher allowed two singles, a double and one run scored off the first three batters in the fifth. Phillips took over pitching responsibilities facing a bases-loaded, 0-out situation.

Florida notched another quick run off a Peter Alonso sacrifice fly. JJ Schwarz' single kept the bases loaded for the Gators. An error by first baseman Cullen Gassaway allowed two runs to score and Florida to extend its lead to 5-0. A Jeremy Vasquez ground out would bring Schwarz home. The Gators left the inning with a comfortable 6-0 lead.

Alonso launched a triple to the center-field wall in the bottom of the fifth and then crossed the plate on a Schwarz RBI single.

Florida added two more runs to increase its lead to 9-0 in the bottom of the seventh. The mercy rule ended the game when an RBI single by Rivera brought Schwarz across the plate.

The Gators improved to 42-16 and the Razorbacks fell to 35-22 on the season.

Florida faces No. 1 seed LSU tomorrow after the conclusion of the Vanderbilt-Texas A&M matchup, set to start at 12 pm CT.
