Four from SEC TF/XC earn academic accolades
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (June 28, 2023) ---- Four Southeastern Conference student-athletes have been named to the 2022-23 Academic All-America® Division I Men's Track & Field/Cross Country Teams, according to an announcement Thursday by the College Sports Communicators (CSC). The Academic All-America® program recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in the competition realm and in the classroom.
Six from the SEC were named to the Women's Academic All-America Team on Wednesday for a total of 10 SEC track and field athletes to earn Academic All-America status for this year.
Tennessee's Dylan Jacobs and Kentucky's Josh Sobota were named to the first team, while Arkansas' Jeremy Farr was named to the second team, and Tennessee's Peyton Davis was a third team selection.
A total of 35 SEC student-athletes were named to the 2022-23 Academic All-District® Men's Track & Field / Cross Country Teams earlier this year.
