Florida sweeps track and field championships

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (May 13, 2018)-----The University of Florida claimed the men's and women's 2018 Southeastern Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships Sunday at the University of Tennessee's Tom Black Track at LaPorte Stadium.

The Gator men won with 111 total points followed by Texas A&M (100) in second and Arkansas (99) in third.

The Florida women tallied 91 points followed by LSU (88.5) and Texas A&M (79.5).

This marks the sixth SEC outdoor title for both the Florida men and women.

Georgia's Denzel Comenentia (23) and Ole Miss' Janeah Stewart (24) won the men's and women's Commissioner's Trophies, given to the male and female high-points scorers at the SEC Outdoor Championship.

The individual male champions crowned Saturday include: Texas A&M's Audie Wyatt in the pole vault (5.55m/18-2.5), Texas A&M's Tahar Triki in the triple jump (16.91m/55-5.25), Ole Miss' Brian Williams in the discus (59.87m/196-5), Alabama's Shelby McEwen in the high jump (2.25m/7-4.5), Ole Miss' Robert Domanic in the 1500 run (3:45.84), Florida's Grant Holloway in the 110 hurdles (13.15), Auburn's Nathon Allen in the 400 dash (44.28), Georgia's Kendal Williams in the 100 dash (9.99), Texas A&M's Devin Dixon in the 800 run (1:46.76), Arkansas' Kemar Mowatt in the 400 hurdles (49.32), Georgia's Kendal Williams in the 200 dash (20.15), Alabama's Vincent Kiprop in the 5000 run (13:48.49), Texas A&M in the 600 relay (3:01.17) and LSU in the 400 relay (38.76).

The individual female champions crowned Saturday were: Georgia's Tatiana Gusin in the high jump (1.83m/6-0), Missouri's Gabi Jacobs in the discus (55.92/183-5), Georgia's Keturah Orji in the triple jump (14.62m/47-11.75), Arkansas' Alexis Jacobus in the pole vault (4.65m/15-3), Mississippi State's Rhianwedd Price-Weimer in the 1500 run (4:18.79), Kentucky's Jasmine Camacho-Quinn in the 100 hurdles (12.40), Florida's Sharrika Barnett in the 400 dash (50.69), LSU's Aleia Hobbs in the 100 dash (10.92), Texas A&M's Sammy Watson in the 800 run (2:03.37), Kentucky's Sydney McLaughlin in the 400 hurdles (52.75), Georgia's Lynna Irby in the 200 dash (22.25), Missouri's Karissa Schweizer in the 5000 run (15:58.14), Kentucky in the 1600 relay (3:25.99) and LSU in the 400 relay (42.05).

Individual champions crowned Friday include: Missouri's Ja'Mari Ward in the men's long jump (8.13m/26-8.25), Ole Miss' Brian Williams in the men's discus throw (65.13m/213-8), Florida's Lloydricia Cameron in the women's shot put (16.92m/55-6.25), Arkansas' Lexi Weeks in the women's pole vault (4.45m/14-7.25), Alabama's Quanesha Burks in the women's long jump (6.82m/22-4.5), Ole Miss' MJ Erb in the men's 3,000-meter steeplechase (8:48.07) and Kentucky's Katy Kunc in the women's 3,000-meter steeplechase (10:02.95).

Individual champions crowned Saturday include: Grant Holloway of Florida in the men's long jump (8.32m/27-3.75), Avione Allgood of Florida in the women's javelin (55.40m/181-9), Denzel Comenentia of Georgia in the men's shot put (20.88m/68-8), Keturah Orji of Georgia in the women's long jump (6.81m/22-4.25) and Ole Miss' Janeah Stewart in the women's shot put (17.97m/58-11.5).

Individual champions crowned Friday were: Georgia's Denzel Comenentia in the men's hammer (75.92m/249-1, meet record), Tennessee's Stamatia Scarvelis in the women's hammer (66.19m/217-2), Mississippi State's Anderson Peters in the men's javelin (82.04m/269-2, meet record), Alabama's Vincent Kiprop in the men's 10,000 meter-run (29:16.64), and Missouri's Megan Cunningham in the women's 10,000-meter run (33:47.05).

Georgia's Karl Saluri tallied 7,934 points to win the heptathlon, while Texas A&M's Tyra Gittens won the heptathlon with 6,074 points.
