Florida, LSU to Meet for SEC Women's Golf Title
HOOVER, Ala. (April 16, 2022)-----Tenth-ranked Florida and No. 14 LSU will square off in the match play final of the SEC Women's Golf Championship Sunday at Greystone's Legacy Course.
The Gators and Tigers won a pair of matches on Saturday to advance to the final. LSU defeated Vanderbilt in the quarterfinals, while Florida beat Ole Miss. The Tigers then knocked off Alabama in the semifinals, while Florida defeated Auburn.
The two teams will square off Sunday at 8 a.m. CT. The match will be televised live on the SEC Network. Florida is looking for its 10th title and first since 2017, while LSU is looking for its second crown following its first in 1992.
This marks the ninth year for the Southeastern Conference Championship to be held at the Greystone Golf and Country Club just outside of Birmingham, Ala. The 2022 event marks the third straight in which the championship is held over five days with match play on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The opening three rounds consisted of stroke play. LSU finished second in the stroke play portion of the tournament, while Florida was fifth.
