Eight to battle in match play at SEC Golf Championship

ST.SIMONS ISLAND, Ga. (April 22, 2022) --  After carding a (277-824) today, the Vanderbilt Commodores maintained their lead for the third day of the SEC Men's Golf Championship at the Sea Island Golf Club in St. Simons Island, Ga.

Texas A&M bumped Florida out of second place after shooting a (273-827). Florida ended the day at third with a (277-828). At fourth place sits LSU (278-831), followed by Missouri (281-839), Georgia (283-840), Tennessee (283-843) and in the final spot sits Mississippi State (285-844).

John DuBois, a junior from Florida carded a (68-204) to win the individual title for stroke play. Runner up was Jordan Sargent from Vanderbilt (69-205).

Mississippi State's Ford Clegg was named SEC Scholar-Athlete of the Year in men's golf for the second consecutive season. Clegg has maintained a 4.0 GPA his entire four years at Mississippi State. He has played in every tournament this fall and spring season while being named the captain of the 2021-22 Mississippi State's men's golf team. Clegg finished tied for 11th in stroke play at the SEC Championship with a 2-under 208, just four strokes off the leader.
