Day One at SEC Women's Swimming

The first night of the 2021 SEC Women's Swimming Championship saw a pair of historic program performances at Georgia's Gabrielsen Natatorium.

Alabama won the 200 medley relay for the first time since 1985 as the quartet of Rhyan White, Kaila Wong, Morgan Scott and Cora Dupre posted a combined time of 1:34.68. Meredith Rees, Molly Winer, Sarah Thompson and Megan Keil of Missouri finished second with a time of 1:35.61. Caitlin Brooks, Bailey Bonnett, Izzy Gati and Riley Gaines of Kentucky took third place with a time of 1:35.87.

Kentucky earned its first-ever title in the 800 free relay as the foursome of Gati, Gaines, Kaitlyn Wheeler and Sophie Sorenson posted the winning time of 6:58.58, the fastest time in the nation this season. Talia Bates, Katelyn Mack, Nikki Miller and Kathleen Golding of Florida finished second with a time of 6:58.91. Courtney Harnish, Callie Dickinson, Jillian Barczyk and Zoie Hartman of Georgia placed third with a time of 6:59.42.

Day two of the 2021 SEC Women's Swimming Championship begins on Thursday, February 18 at 10 a.m. ET with the prelims for the 500 free, 200 IM and 50 free. The finals of the 500 free, 200 IM, 50 free and 200 free relay will start at 6 p.m. ET. Both sessions can be viewed on SEC Network+.
