Auburn leads at SEC Women's Golf Championship

HOOVER, Ala. (April 13, 2022)-----No. 20 Auburn shot an even-par 288 to take the lead after the first day of play of the SEC Women's Golf Championships Wednesday at Greystone Golf & Country Club's Legacy Course.

The Tigers lead by one shot over South Carolina and Florida (289). LSU (291) is fourth, followed by Ole Miss (292), Arkansas (296), Vanderbilt (298), Georgia (299), Texas A&M (299), Kentucky (300), Alabama (302), Mississippi State (305), Tennessee (305) and Missouri (306).

Florida's Marina Escobar Domingo fired the low-round of the day at 5-under 67. Arkansas' Julia Gregg (68) is second individually, followed by Ole Miss' Chiara Tamburlini and Auburn's Megan Schofill (70).

This marks the ninth year for the Southeastern Conference Championship to be held at the Greystone Golf and Country Club just outside of Birmingham, Ala. The 2022 event will mark the third straight in which the championship will be held over five days with match play on Saturday and Sunday. The opening three rounds will consist of stroke play. The championship match on Sunday will be televised live on SEC Network. The semifinals on Saturday will be available live on SECN+.

The second round of the SEC Championship will begin Thursday at 8 a.m. CT. Live scoring is available at SECSports.com and golfstat.com.
