LSU wins back-to-back SEC Gymnastics Championships

Session II

ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The LSU Tigers won the 2018 SEC Gymnastics Championship with a score of 197.400. The Crimson Tide followed in second with a 196.975 and the Gators came in third, posting a 196.825. LSU's Sarah Finnegan won the all-around with a 39.500. Florida's Alicia Boren clinched second place with a score of 39.475 and LSU's Kennedi Edney placed third with a 39.450. The Tigers also won the 2018 regular season title and the 2017 SEC Gymnastics Championship.

The Tigers earned a 49.400 on vault, with Sarah Edwards and Kennedi Edney leading the way with scores of 9.900. They continued to impress on the uneven bars, matching their vault score of 49.400. LSU posted a 49.300 on beam before finishing the meet with a 49.300 on floor.

The Tide's Nickie Guerrero and Kiana Winston posted 9.950s to lift the team to a score of 49.450 on beam. Bama continued its performance with a 49.275 on floor and posted a 49.300 on vault. The Tide earned a 48.950 on bars to close out the meet with a second place finish.

McMurtry tallied a 9.950 to lead the Gators on the uneven bars, scoring a team total of 49.400. The Gators went on to earn their highest score of the night with a 49.550 on beam behind Alyssa Baumann's meet-high 9.975. Florida struggled on floor and came away with a 48.400, but rebounded on vault with a 49.475.

The Wildcats shined on floor to score a 49.275. They posted a team score of 49.300 on vault thanks to Mollie Korth and Alex Hyland's 9.900s. Kentucky went on to score a 49.100 on bars and a 48.875 on beam.

Session I

The Razorbacks earned first place in the afternoon session, placing fifth overall.

The Razorbacks shined in Session I, posting a total score of 196.425. Arkansas tallied a 48.975 on vault and a 49.150 on bars, tying their team-high for the uneven bars at an SEC championship. The Razorbacks concluded the meet with a 49.225 on beam and a 49.075 on floor. Freshman Sophia Carter concluded Session I with a 9.875, the highest score of the session on floor.

Georgia posted a team score of 196.350. The GymDogs scored a 49.150 on vault, their highest-scoring event of the day. Junior Sydney Snead led the GymDogs in the event with the first 9.900 of the day. UGA tallied a 49.125 on bars, a 49.050 on floor and a 49.025 on beam.

Missouri clinched a team score of 196.100. The Tigers' best score of the day was tallied on beam, posting a 49.175, followed by a 49.025 on bars. Mizzou scored a 48.925 on floor and a 48.975 on vault.

Auburn came away with a total score of 195.650. The Tigers showcased their talent on vault with a 49.125 and a 48.900 on bars. Tigers' Drew Watson and Gracie Day both earned the highest scores on the vault in Session I with a 9.925. Auburn racked up a score of 48.800 on the floor and a 48.825 on the beam.
