HOOVER, Ala. -- No. 11 seed Alabama built an early lead but No. 3 seed Texas A&M came back to top the Crimson Tide 4-3 in the second round of the 2015 SEC Baseball Tournament.

Alabama's offense came alive early but the Aggies' comeback was sparked by a three-run third inning. The Crimson Tide almost rallied with a tying run in the ninth but Logan Taylor's throw to home cut down the runner.

"It was an extremely hard-fought game," said Texas A&M coach Rob Childress. "It was well-played on both sides. I'm very proud of the resiliency of our players. Our team all year long has just been in the fight until the very end."

Alabama's Cody Henry doubled in the top of the second to bring in the Crimson Tide's first run. Alabama added a second run in the inning on an RBI single from J.C. Wilhite. The Crimson Tide increased their lead to 3-0 when Kyle Overstreet singled to score Casey Hughston in the top of the third.

Texas A&M did not record a hit until the bottom of the third, but tied the game with three runs in the inning. Ryne Birk hit a double to bring Blake Allemand across for the Aggies' first run. Mitchell Nau then hit an RBI single. Logan Taylor's double to deep right center brought the tying run across the plate. Nick Banks looked to take the lead for Texas A&M but Alabama right fielder Casey Hughston made a diving catch to end the inning.

With two outs in the top of the seventh Alabama's Hughston knocked a hit to deep center but Texas A&M center fielder Nick Choruby ran into the wall to grab the third out.

In the bottom of the eighth Nick Banks hit a single to bring the go-ahead run home for Texas A&M.

Texas A&M starter Grayson Long struck out 10 in 6.0 innings of work. Ryan Hendrix (5-2) retired all six batters he faced to earn the win before Andrew Vinson closed the ninth to pick up his fourth save of the season. Alabama's Ray Castillo (3-1), who pitched two innings of relief, was credited with the loss.

Texas A&M improved to 44-10 and Alabama fell to 31-27 on the season.

Alabama plays No. 7 seed Missouri tomorrow in an elimination game at 10:30 a.m. ET/9:30 a.m. CT on SEC Network. Texas A&M faces No. 2 seed Vanderbilt tomorrow at 5:30 p.m. ET/4:30 p.m. CT on SEC Network.
